She was a ghetto survivor, afterwards she devoted all her attention to children of the world – in Asia, in Africa and in Europe. She helped to save lives and heal hundreds of kids. The film, enriched with some animated footage, tells the fascinating story of Ala from the Polish reading primer.

The turning point in the film is self-burning of Głuszak's hand. This act has its mystical significance – it's a kind of sacrifice.
